Innovative Logic USB IP Portfolio Strengthens RISC-V Ecosystem
San Jose, Calif., — May 21, 2019 — Innovative Logic, Inc. today announced the acquisition of its USB IP by leading RISC-V IP and silicon solutions provider, SiFive. As part of the deal, SiFive has hired the majority of Innovative Logic’s employees in Bengaluru, India, to further augment SiFive’s comprehensive IP portfolio and drive the development of the next generation of controllers.
Innovative Logic’s India engineering team has been working in the USB IP domain for more than a decade, building a strong reputation for developing and implementing high quality, silicon-proven, certified USB IP. The team has led USB development from legacy USB 2.0 to next-generation USB 3.x and implemented its key IP in advanced process technology nodes.

Inno-Logic’s USB3.1 gen2 device controller along with PHY from M31 Technology again successfully passed all compliance tests and received certification from USB-IF in November 2017. Besides USB 3.1 gen 2 Controller IP, the USB 2.0 device controller IP also passed the certification test in November, 2017.

After having great success in adoption of Inno-Logic’s USB3.0 device and host controller IP, this is a one big step to provide the upgrade to USB3.1 IP.
Inno-Logic’s USB3.1 dual role device and host solution has gone through extensive pre and post silicon tests to ensure that it works seamlessly at the customer end. We have also tested our IP using more than 8 PHY vendors and more than 4 VIP vendors globally.

Typical USB3.1 based applications are removable hard drives, flash drives, high-end video and imaging devices, 4K displays, high-resolution HD printer/scanner, etc.
Our USB3.1 dual role IP is currently available for licensing worldwide for early adopters. The IP is currently available in both soft IP and FPGA netlist formats. The soft IP deliverables include RTL source code, test vectors, scripts, basic device drivers and User Manual. Dinesh Tyagi has spent more than 20 years in different engineering, marketing, and sales roles before starting Innovative Logic. He is the key founder of Innovative Logic and he has been successfully managing Innovative Logic since its inception. Prior to Innovative Logic, Dinesh was working as senior marketing person in Altera’s IP division. Before Altera, he was heading the Engineering, Marketing, and Sales, Application Engineering, Senior Marketing Professional, Head of Marketing for high-end Microcontrollers in Renesas. Before joining Renesas, Dinesh spent two years in a embedded CPU startup company performing many challenging roles in sales, marketing, and application engineering. Dinesh also successfully managed Application Engineering group in Synopsys and he was key contributor to increase the revenue of Synopsys DesignWare product line from $5million per annum to $50million per year in 4 years. Prior to Synopsys Dinesh spent 4 years in ST Microlectronics and 2 years in Cadence in different engineering roles.
Aravinda Holla – Board of Director - India
Aravinda has over 14 years of semiconductor Industry, Manager of iP Release, Digital IP industry experience in various technical and management positions. Aravinda is currently managing the India Design Centre. Prior to joining Innovative Logic, he worked as manger of IP release team at LSI Logic, India. Before LSI, Aravinda was heading digital IP design group in SANYO LSI Technologies India. In SANYO he was responsible for building a strong digital IP design group which developed many digital IP like USB, MP3 Decoder, DVDecoder, DDR controller, TV On Screen Display etc. He started his career in Central Research Laboratory where he worked in Radar signal processing domain.
Vikas Kulkarni – Board of Director - India
Vikas has more than 14 years of industry experience in ASIC design and verification. Prior to joining Innovative Logic he headed VLSI Design and Verification team at Aftek as a Manager and worked on SOC projects in the area of H.264 and Network Camera. Before Aftek he worked as a Manager in GDA (Later acquired by Rambus) and contributed in Ethernet, PCI Express and USB IP development projects. In his career so far he has led several IP development programs from concept to silicon. He has been working with Innovative Logic since 2009 and heading/leading IP Verification team.
